Elena grew up in Boston and attended college in the Massachusetts area, earning her BA at Clark University in Worcester and later an MEd in School Counseling from UMASS Boston. Elena has always gravitated towards supporting students both in and outside of the classroom, and has volunteered and worked in various programs in the Boston area. Before joining the SQB team, she served across a nine-year span at a Boston CBO in several capacities, including roles as an Advisor, Director, and senior leadership member. Her continued passion for empowering youth and creating access & success opportunities for students led her to SquashBusters, where she could also integrate her interest in wellness and fitness. Outside of SQB, you can find Elena via a variety of activities: trying out new restaurants; playing soccer; teaching fitness classes; attempting to learn something new (i.e. squash!) and spending time with her sidekicks–her niece and nephew.
