Originally from California, Bianca has always been an advocate for educational spaces that empower students of color. Bianca graduated from Brown with her Sc.B in Educational Neuroscience in 2016, and her M.Ed. in Elementary and Bilingual Education from UCLA in 2018. During her three years in Los Angeles, she taught middle school as a founding teacher at Equitas Academy and focused her teaching practice on centering student voices. Bianca joined SquashBusters Providence in August 2019 and has developed the academic program in Providence from 6th -12th grade. Today, she works primarily with the high school students and enjoys supporting them in discovering their post-secondary pathway.

Stefano has been actively engaged with the Rhode Island squash community for 27 years. He was a top junior squash player in Brazil, he played varsity squash at Trent University, Canada and has won numerous Rhode Island State championships. Prior to joining SQB, he was the Chief Applications Research Officer at Clark Labs, Clark University, MA for 25 years. His passion and commitment for squash and education led him to SquashBusters. Stefano received a B.S. from Trent University, Canada and a M.Sc. from Clark University, MA.

Pedro Leta Flores graduated from SquashBusters in 2016. As an alum of the program, SquashBusters was a big part of Pedro’s life. Since moving to Providence, Pedro wanted to find a way to stay involved with the organization. Now serving as the Program Assistant in PVD, Pedro is able to give back to the SQB community that helped him grow into the person he is today.

Christian was born and raised in Providence, RI. After completing General Studies at the Community College of Rhode Island, he transferred to Rhode Island College and earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2019. While in college, Christian worked full time as a teacher’s aide in Providence Public Schools, where he developed a love for education and youth development.
Over the next eight years, he supported students in a variety of roles, including seven years as a teacher assistant, three years as a substitute teacher, and work as a behavior specialist using applied behavior analysis (ABA). These experiences deepened his commitment to helping young people grow both academically and personally.
As Assistant Program Director at SquashBusters Providence, Christian oversees the academic and squash programming that together form the heart of the organization’s mission: combining rigorous academics, the sport of squash, and community service to help middle and high school students succeed in school, in college, and in life. Bilingual in English and Spanish, he is especially committed to building strong relationships with students and families across Providence.
Christian is passionate about education, equity, and social justice, and he is excited to continue developing programs that empower students to thrive on and off the court.

Nina Talbot

Program Coordinator: Squash

Nina earned her B.A. from Yale University where she was a member of the squash, tennis and lacrosse teams. She also holds an M.A. in Journalism from NYU. She was Managing Editor at Tennis Week Magazine and Associate Director of Alumni Relations and Publications at the Darden School at UVA before taking time off to start a family. While raising her three girls, she was able to coach lacrosse and squash for more than 15 years. In addition, she served on the board of Barrington Education Foundation which provides grants that support the enrichment of all students within Barrington Public Schools. She is excited to be working for SQB where she can combine her love of athletics and education to help enhance the lives of SQB students.

Steven Vo

Program Coordinator: Squash

Providence

An alum of SquashBusters Boston ‘11, Steven has over 20 years of squash experience between playing and coaching. Upon completing his collegiate studies in medical assisting, he began his coaching career at SQB Boston as the Middle School Squash Coordinator. Here, he led the development and training of the next generation of SEA squash players.

 

Steven has also coached in several club settings such as Infinitum, SquashWest, and PVD Squash where he honed his expertise in working with players of all ages and levels. He provided private lessons, junior and adult clinics, as well as US Squash tournament organization/management. Steven also worked with a number of private school teams, most extensively with St. Mark’s School, where he was an Admission Counselor and Squash Director. During his time, he not only led their teams to higher levels of competition in the regular season, but a Division IV National Championship to conclude their 22-23 season.

 

He is thrilled to be at SQB Providence and looks forward to growing the program to the best of his ability!
