Fall Festivities

The perennial SquashBusters Fall Ball hosted by the Young Leadership Committee was a smashing success. Once again, the soiree took place at the lovely Exchange Center on Fan Pier on October 23. Catering to a younger demographic, the Ball brought together more than 200 men and women in their 20’s and early 30’s.

The perennial SquashBusters Fall Ball hosted by the Young Leadership Committee was a smashing success. Once again, the soiree took place at the lovely Exchange Center on Fan Pier on Friday  October 23. Catering to a younger demographic, the Ball brought together more than 200 men and women in their 20’s and early 30’s. Many of the guests are already engaged with SquashBusters and our students as mentors, tutors and coaches and several new recruits were there to deepen their understanding of SquashBusters. Staff member and alumnus, Rodney Galvao, gave a rousing talk about the impact SquashBusters has had on his life, crediting his recent graduation from Bates to lessons he learned at SquashBusters and talking about the influence the program continues to have on his friendships, health and sense of long-term ambition. The food, drink, music and camaraderie of the Fall Ball were top shelf and the special 20 Squared campaign, in which guests pledged $20 for 20 months in celebration of SQB’s 20th birthday, was a great success. SQB alumni showed up in spades including the very photogenic Mikhail, J.P., Ronald, Jose, Jhonathan, Darryl and Rodney. The Fall Ball is the pride and joy of SquashBusters Young Leadership Committee whose members include Andrew D’Ignazio, David Funk, Dan Hsu, Nick Keches, Matt Marchisotto,  Ashley Mitchell, John Nimmo, Alli Rubin, Krissy Rubin, Corey Schafer, and Steve Wetherill.
